Rimmel Lasting Finish 25HR Powder Foundation – Review

Rimmel brings you it’s foundation revolution. Finally one convenient product that helps build coverage day through to night and beyond! Available in four shades this foundation delivers high coverage, long wear and is a must have for anyone looking for a great power foundation.

Packaging
This powder comes in a small compact that has a mirror and a square sponge at the bottom compartment. I personally have not used the sponge  so I cant speak on it’s performance. I love the travel friendly packaging, I can just pop this my purse and I’m good to go. It’s one of the nicer compacts I have seen from the drugstore.

Application
The great thing about this product is that you have the option of applying this either wet or dry. You can apply it dry for a light to medium finish, or wet for a full professional look while remaining water-resistant. I have obviously used both methods and honestly love how the finished product looks on both methods. I apply it dry when I am setting my liquid foundation. I use a fluffy brush and lightly dust my face. I really love using this powder wet when I want to set my concealer. I dip my damp beauty blender into the product and lightly press it into my skin. The finished results deliver an air brushed look. The powder just melts into my skin and doesn’t look cakey at all. The shade I have is Soft Beige, and although it does look fairly light in the pan it blends in nicely with my medium skin tone. I probably wouldn’t’ be able to use this shade in the summer though.

Staying Power
Rimmel makes big claims about this foundation. They claim it lasts not 24 hours but a whole 25 hours. Now, in my personal experience I would never need to have my foundation last 25 hours. I guess it’s useful for people who work very long hours and can’t find the time to retouch their foundation. I cant speak about it lasting 25 hours because I don’t keep makeup on my face that long. I can say this foundation exceeds my expectations and last all day for which is about 8-9 hours. Keep in mind I have super dry skin so I rarely ever get shiny. If you do have oily skin I suggest using a face primer beforehand.

    • I know right! I love that aspect of this powder.

  • For the most part, I have to use all natural, organic makeup brands because my skin is so sensitive and I break out otherwise. However, for a product like this, that I can use to set my concealer, I think I’ll give a try because I often struggle with finding a powder that truly sets my concealer and doesn’t look caky or settle into the fine lines. Thanks so much for sharing, beauty, and I hope you have a great week ahead!

  • This sounds pretty good for a drugstore foundation. It would be nice if they expand the range of shades.

    • I agree I hope they release more shades too.

  • For years I stayed away from powder foundations, even when the whole mineral powder foundation boomed in the market, I gave them a pass because I have dry skin. Recently I tried Vichy powder foundation and it was stunning on my face! I do have to use a hydrating primer first but I really like it. I am definitely open to giving this Rimmel powder foundation a try.

    • Haha I know right! I personally wouldn’t know I don’t typically keep my makeup on for more then 9 hours lol.
