DIY Whipped Rosemary Mint Salt Scrub – Recipe

I have to admit this Rosemary Mint Salt Scrub is the most luxurious product I have whipped up in a very long time. If you don’t know I am so not a fan of sugar scrubs. Sure they are convenient to make but let’s be honest even though  sugar removes dead skin, the most organic sugar doesn’t offer the same beneficial properties that salt scrubs do.

Salt scrubs do a much better job removing dead skin from heels, feet and elbows. Salt scrubs detoxify the skin and even though this scrub does contain salt, it’s super moisturizing because of the Coconut oil and Shea Butter. I used rosemary and peppermint essential oil but you could use any high quality oil of your choice.

Salt scrubs can be more abrasive but I avoided this issue by using fine dead seal salt and fine Epsom salt. I buy my fine salt from here.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Coconut oil
  • 1/2 cup Shea Butter
  • 1/2 cup Dead Sea Salt
  • 10 drops Lemon Essential Oil
  • 5 drops Peppermint Essential Oil

Directions

  1. In a mixer combine at medium to high speed the coconut oil, shea butter, and essential oils until smooth and creamy.
  2. At low-speed mix in the dead sea salt until just combined.
  3. Store in a glass jar.
