L.A Girl Matte Flat Pigment Gloss – Review, Photos & Swatches

Product Description
Introducing our hottest new lip product – Matte Pigment Gloss. These 16 bold shades provide rich, intense color in a flat finish for all day wear. The long wearing formula goes on as a high pigmented liquid and dries to a flat matte finish. Leaving lips colored in gorgeous velvety perfection that last and lasts.

Recently I reviewed the L.A Girl Matte Lipsticks that by the way I love and with that order I also purchased a bunch of their Matte Flat Pigment Glosses. Since liquid lipsticks are all the rage right now it seems like every brand is coming out with their own version. I’m not complaining since I adore liquid lipsticks. Thanks to L.A Girl for not being available in Canada I had to resort to purchasing these glosses online on Beauty, which I happen to love.

Packaging
These babies come in chubby tubes and you can see the shade through the tube which I love. That’s pretty much where my love for the packaging ends. Despite the bulky packaging,  the applicator is super thin and very stiff. I can see this being a plus for some people but I would have liked the applicator to have some sort of flexibility. Due to the rock hard applicator, it just leaves a streaky finish.

Pigmentation
I honestly have a love hate relationship depending on which shade I’m using, but to be honest I dislike most of the shades. Some shades are opaque and don’t require a second layer where as most of the shades need several layers. Most of the shades I own look watered down and are honestly lacking in pigmentation. Point being consistency is not a theme with these lip products which quite frankly is very disappointing.  Some shades are very streaky and no matter how many layers I apply they just don’t look even on the lips.

Formula
As mentioned earlier the formula varies depending on which shade you use. The nude shade called Dreamy has the best formula and feels very creamy on the lips. Overall they have a far thinner consistency then say the OFRA liquid lipsticks, they also feel wetter.

Staying Power
If you do end up getting an even coverage they last a good amount of time, about 5 hours but again they do not last as long the OFRA liquid lipsticks. They do transfer a tiny bit if you eat or drink.

Although I love L.A Girl products I am not digging these, like at all. And of course I had to take off extra points for L.A Girl not paying attention to their Canadian customers. They are next to impossible to find in any retailer. These liquid lipsticks could have been so great but the consistency was awful. This is clearly a case of you get what you pay for. They will be going in my waste basket,, that's how awful I think these are.
