It’s no secret I’m a huge fan of carrier oils, but I rarely use jojoba oil for one reason and it’s because it can be quite expensive compared to my trusted coconut oil. That’s why I am so happy I found out about Leven Rose and their jojoba oil which is priced so well compared to other companies. I really like that the jojoba oil from Leven Rose is 100% organic, cold-pressed and unrefined, which if you read my post about unrefined shea butter you will now it’s the best form of oil you can use. Since it’s unrefined the essential nutrients and fatty acids are still in tact. It also comes in a dark amber bottle which is very important as it extends shelf life as oils are light sensitive & must be stored in dark amber bottles to protect them from oxidation. Oils not packaged in dark bottles will lose potency & become non effective.
What Is Jojoba Oil?
Jojoba Oil pronounce (ho ho ba) comes from a shrub that grows in the dry regions of northern Mexico and the Southwest US. It is a botanical extract of the seed of the jojoba tree (Simmondsia Chinenis). Jojoba oil is technically not an oil but rather a wax which in all of nature this wax is the most similar to human skin oil (sebum). By applying jojoba to the skin you can manipulate the skin into producing enough oils to balance oil production. If you have acne jojoba oil is non-comedogenic so it’s perfectly fine for all skin types and doesn’t make your skin more oily, if in fact you are using pure jojoba oil.

This jojoba oil goes a long way so you only need a few drops to moisturize your face. I like to add a few drops to the palms of my hands, rub them together and then gently massage it into my skin. If you need more you can always add more drops, but I personally like to start out with less. I also like to dilute my essential oils with this oil, primarily frankincense and myrrh essential oils which are known to be beneficial for the skin. Jojoba oil naturally moisturizes and softens skin, giving it a radiant, and energetic look.
Since jojoba oil isn’t greasy I love to apply some to the ends of my hair which tend to be more dry. Right away I notice less frizz and a healthy shine. Sure you can use the endless hair oils that are available commercially but using an oil like jojoba oil without any other ingredients or unnecessary chemicals is my preference.
Jojoba oil removes makeup effortlessly. It’s so good it even removes stubborn waterproof eyeliner and mascara. I add a few drops to a cotton ball and gently rub my eyes with it.
Jojoba oil’s absorbent properties makes it’s ideal to use for nail health. Simply apply jojoba oil to your nail plate and cuticle by placing oil droplets on the nail and massaging it.
