HASK Macadamia Hair Line – Review

I am very excited to be reviewing another hair care line from HASK, since I was beyond impressed with their Keratin line. The Macadamia hair line is  amazing especially if you struggle with dry hair.  I recently dedicated an entire post regarding macadamia nut oil and it’s countless benefits, so to be able to have this precious oil in an entire hair care line that I know doesn’t use nasty ingredients I was beyond stoked to try out. They sell so many different products and collections for different hair types. They have something for all types of hair.  HASK products are free of sulfates, parabens, gluten, drying alcohols, artificial colors, phthalates and are cruelty-free. Their hair products contain high quality ingredients that are actually really good for your hair and they also contain top of the line luxurious oils. Their products are also perfectly safe to use on color treated hair.

Macadamia nuts are packed with essential fatty acids which are highly beneficial because these nuts also mimic our scalps natural oils. Its abundant nutrients and essential fatty acids help keep hair soft, supple and shiny. Ideal for dry, damaged, or over-processed hair. Macadamia oil is able to penetrate the hair shaft because of its low molecular weight allowing it to repair and restore damage to hair. All four of these products really compliment each other and enhance each others efficacy.

HASK Macadamia Oil Moisturizing Shampoo (355ml – $7.99 CAD)
Right off the bat this entire line smells divine, just like vanilla cupcakes. The Macadamia oil moisturizing shampoo is infused with antioxidant-rich Macadamia Oil to replenish and hydrate. This shampoo gently cleanses while it repairs and adds moisture, leaving even the most parched hair whisper-soft and incredibly shiny. Even though this shampoo is sulfate free it cleanses my hair beautiful, produces a nice lather and leaves my hair feeling squeaky clean.  It also doesn’t leave my hair feeling oily like most sulfate free shampoos tend to do. Unfortunately my hair did feel a tad dry so I would definitely recommend using the HASK conditoner to go along with the shampoo.

Directions: Apply generously to wet hair. Massage into a luscious lather, rinse thoroughly, and repeat to your heart’s content

HASK Macadamia Oil Moisturizing Conditioner (355ml – $7.99 CAD)
The conditioner in this line is very hydrating and adds much needed moisture to my hair. I let this conditioner set in my hair for 3 minutes avoiding my roots.  It leaves my hair so silky and the best part is I can actually glide my brush all through my hair without any tangles.

Directions: Shampoo hair and remove excess water. Apply generously, leaving on for 1-2 minutes, or as long as it takes to shave your legs! Rinse thoroughly and behold luxurious, ready-to-style hair.

HASK Macadamia Oil Moisturizing Shine Oil (18ml – $2.46 CAD)
The HASK Keratin Protein Shine oil I reviewed recently made me convert to hair oils in general, so to say I had high hopes for this oil is fair to say. Generally hair oils make hair shiny and soft but in reality most times they make my hair look greasy and heavy. This oil smooths my hair while adding a  glossy, healthy looking shine without, you guessed it my hair looking greasy. I prefer to use this oil  while my hair is wet, right after I use the Macadamia  shampoo and conditioner. I rub a dime size amount in the palm of my hands and start at the ends of my hair, where it’s the most dry and damaged. I avoid adding any to my roots. I can’t say enough good things about this oil, it makes my hair feel so incredibly soft, I literally can’t stop touching my hair afterwards, it’s so soft.

Directions: Can be used on both wet and dry hair to create a silky, smooth finish. Apply a coin-sized amount evenly throughout hair, avoiding the root area.

HASK Macadamia Oil Hydrating Deep Conditioning Hair Treatment (50g – $2.99 CAD)
I generally shy away from hair masks for fear of oily hair, but I have been pleasantly surprised and how quick the results were, I am a believer now. First off this deep conditioner smells divine, almost has a vanilla nut scent scent. The small 50g packet it comes in actually goes a very long way since it’s so creamy and thick you really don’t need a lot. Since I have short hair I got 3 separate uses out of it which is pretty awesome. I do hope HASK makes a tub version of this in the future though. I basically apply this treatment once a week and leave it on for 10 minutes or until I’m done shaving. I have super frizzy hair and the frizzines is a lot more scary if I don’t blow dry my hair right away, but for review purposes I let my hair air dry and right away I noticed far less frizz. That alone had me sold. Next I  wet my hair with just water and blow dried my hair like I normally do and my hair looked and felt so healthy.

Directions: Apply a generous amount of Macadamia Oil Hydrating Deep Conditioner to clean, wet hair. Massage into hair focusing on damaged areas. Let penetrate for 10 minutes. Rinse well. Style as usual.

Overall I do really like the Macadamia line, but I do prefer their Keratin Protein line a tad more. I love that even though they are a drugstore brand the packaging and the quality is just like a high end shampoo & conditioner. I feel like I noticed more profound results with the keratin line but I still highly recommend giving this line a try especially if your hair is need of serious moisture. If you need help taming frizzy hair or if you want to rejuvenate your hair I would highly recommend this line.
