The soft and shimmering color of our Baked Blush creates a natural healthy glow. Baked in an oven, these blushes offer rich pigmentation for a beautiful effect. The long-lasting formula provides a gorgeous, smooth and even application. Infused with active key ingredients Jojoba, Rose, Sunflower, Apricot and Grape to nourish and hydrate the skin. Apply this shimmering color dry for sheer pigmentation, or use a damp brush or sponge for a more vibrant effect.
The elf baked blushes, highlighter and bronzers have been raved about in the blogesphere for quite some time. They do look like they could be an affordable dupe to the MAC mineral blushes. elf products are usually a hit or miss in my experience, but once you find a hit it’s like winning the beauty lotto. . Much like the MAC mineralized blushes these do have the same type of marble vining going through them, they are also baked in a dome shape and contain almost the same amount of product. And that ladies and gentlemen is where all the similarities stop. Let’s see where this product went wrong.
These come in basic black compacts that have a clear see through lid. The compact is very cheaply made and could easily break if dropped. The name of the shade is located at the back of the compact on a teeny tiny sticker which is extremely hard to read. The elf label on the top of the front lid easily wears off as well. So overall I am not a fan of the packaging.
Pigmentation / Texture
My oh my does these have horrendous texture. These are extremely hard to work with. The product is extremely hard and any brushes I have tried to use didn’t pick up a good amount of color. The only thing my brushes would pick up was chunks of metallic shimmer. The pigmentation is also lacking in every single shade I own. I do like shimmery blushes but these go to a whole different level. I don’t think they look natural at all. Despite how good the color pay off is in the swatches, there isn’t enough color pay off when applying these with an actual blush brush, not even close.
These didn’t perform well throughout the day. I have very dry skin so almost nothing fades on my skin and these couldn’t even stay on properly for more then a few hours. Totally lame if you ask me. It ended up looking blotchy on my skin after 2 hours. I know they are 3 bucks but I’ve had dollar store blushes last longer.
