The Milani Eyeshadow Primer is the best eye shadow primer out there, bar none. Why is it so incredible? For starters, how about the 8-plus hours of performance it delivers? Or the fact that it turns every shadow – regardless of formula – into longwear? This lightweight, nonsticky color-intensifier and crease-minimizer goes on nude and once it dries down, it’s invisible. You’ll know it’s there, though. And so will your shadow.
Prepping the eyes with a good eye primer before eyeshadow application is so important. A good primer can turn dollar store eyeshadow into a nice vibrant long wearing shadow. It doesn’t matter if you use super expensive eyeshadows, if you aren’t using a good primer it will show on the eyes. I have been using the Urban Decay Primer Potion for years and I swore by it. That is until I tried the Milani primer. Thanks to Milani you can now stop splurging on expensive primers and use an affordable primer that literally works far better than any high end prier I have ever tried.
The primer comes in a small gray squeeze tube that has a nozzle tip and black cap. I really love that I can easily squeeze out the perfect amount without sticking my fingers into a pot. It’s a lot more sanitary.
Even though Milani is easily found in the states it can be hard to find in stores within Toronto. I bought this primer from Well.ca and I know some Milani products are available at Super Center but not sure if this actual primer is available.
To thoroughly test out this primer I have tried it with dollar store, MAC, Urban Decay, Wet n Wild, elf, theBalm, Zoeva eyeshadows and every single one of them has lasted a good 8 hours over this primer without creasing, fading or transferring. Call me impressed.
I only need a tiny dot of product for each eye. It’s an easy primer to blend into the skin and because of the slight tint you can see exactly where you are applying it. Once it’s blended into the skin I don’t notice any tint to my skin. This primer feels super creamy so I’m not tugging my skin to apply it. It’s important to wait until this primer is completely dry before applying any shadows, otherwise the shadows can end up looking blotchy. It takes about 30 seconds for it to fully dry. When you first apply the primer it has a slight sheen but once it dries it has a matte finish. Also after 30 seconds it is tacky enough for shadows to grab onto it.
