DIY Coconut Oil Hair Repair Mask – Recipe

I have a confession I almost never use a hair mask! But since I dye my hair every 6 weeks I figured i really should be using one. I was at the drugstore the other day looking to buy a hair mask to help tame my damaged frizzy hair but I held back because number 1 some of them were really overpriced and 2Β  they were filled with chemicals.

I decided to experiment and make my own and I have to admit I am pretty impressed with myself, my hair has never ever felt as soft an healthy as it does now. This hair mask is so easy to make once you have the ingredients and since I had all the ingredients in bulk I will definitely continue to make this mask in the future. There are many different ingredients you can use to make a hair mask, after experimenting with a few different ingredients this is the recipe that I absolutely love. This mask makes my hair feel so soft and really makes my hair look so healthy.

I also never use hair masks, it means, well, my hairdresser applies it sometimes. I know that coconut oil is excellent, but for me the problem would be to find the other ingredients. I will try to look for them!

    • You could definitely use just coconut oil and add a few drops of essential oils. The shea butter and argan just give it extra moisture. Shea butter is available online. I buy mine in bulk from newdirectionsaromatics.com 1kg for $8.

  • I mix my Shea butter with different oils too, but I use a small amount as a leave-in to keep my hair moisturized. Coconut oil helps with protein retention. This is such a great tip for chemically treated hair.
