Soothing Lavender Detox Bath Salt – Recipe

Toxins are in the air we breathe, the food we eat, the medications we take and in the water we drink. Toxins cause irritation, harm and destruction in the body if left unchecked. A detox bath is one of the best ways to help boost the body’s natural skin/sweat detoxification system.

When To Have A Detox Bath

  • To soothe headaches, achy joints or sore muscles
  • Reduce inflammation
  • Regulate enzyme activity
  • Improve absorption of nutrients
  • Promote a good night’s sleep
  • The first sign of a cold/flu
  • To help speed up the healing process when you are ill
  • To relieve detox symptoms
  • To help relax children

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Epsom Salt (I buy mine here)
  • 1 cup Baking Soda (I buy mine here)
  • 10 drops of Lavender Essential oil (I buy min here)
  • Add all the ingredients into a glass jar with a tight fitting lid.

Directions

  • Pour contents into hot bath water and soak for 20 minutes.  Try to cover your entire body up to your neck.
  • Once you get out of bath, avoid eating anything for 20 minutes and drink plenty of cold water.

  • This is so good! I take a detox bath with epsom and dead sea salts once a week. I either add lavender oil or sweet orange oil depending on whether I want to relax or get a boost.

    • I have to try out this recipe with sweet orange oil I bet it must be very refreshing. I love to use eucalyptus and rosemary when I have a cold.

  • This sounds divine Simera, is dead sea salt hard to come by? I could use this to sleep xox ?

    • I buy it online. Epsom salt is available at the drugstore but dead sea salt is not. I find it’s way cheaper buying these salts online in bulk, I buy them at Newdirectionsaromatics.ca

  • I would’ve tried it but these ingredients are hard to get in India!

    • These ingredients can be hard to find in stores in Canada too. I opt for buying them online.

    • It sure does. And it’s so much better to make it at home then to buy it in a store.

  • Thanks for the tips. Lavender is one my favorite type of fragrance and I like its calming effect.
