Custom Cover Drops contain concentrated pigments that allow you to customize any product in your beauty regimen, adding coverage that you control.
It seems like everyone is raving about the new Custom Cover Drops from Cover FX. The majority of people have a lot of great things to say about this innovative product. This is my very first time trying out a product from Cover FX (yup I have apparently been living under a rock for years) and I can officially say I am hooked to Cover FX. The Custom Cover Drops are a game changer for sure… Read on to find out why.
Custom Cover Drops is not meant to be used on it’s own as you would a normal foundation. I repeat DO NOT use this product on it’s own. It is a pure color pigment that can be added to any face product to add a custom amount of coverage. For review purpose I have tried to use this product on it’s own and it doesn’t blend out well so it’s important you mix it with another product.
This product can be mixed with a number of different bases such as, oils, creams or serums. It works well with water, silicone and oil bases. Below I have listed a few examples of how I have started adding these drops into my daily makeup routine.
- Add 1-2 drops to a lotion/moisturizer to create a tinted moisturizer
- Fix a foundation that is too light by adding the desired amount of drops
- Add 3-4 drops to a moisturizer to make it a full coverage foundation
The drops are packaged in slim dark glass bottle that has a pipette dropper making measuring out the exact number of drops a breeze.I find the overall packaging esthetically pleasing. The only thing I’m not a fan of is the outer rim gets very messy after using this product.
I have the shade in G30 which is pretty much a spot on shade if you are an NC30. It has a yellow undertone which I love. The color range is categorized by by Pink (4 shades), Golden (7 shades), and Neutral (13 shades). I really love that they offer a wide range shades and also keep in mind peoples undertones which you don’t see a lot of companies do too often.
Before trying out this product I had read this worked very well for younger skin and not so much for more mature skin that is prone to dryness which had me a little worried because my skin is dry as the dessert. I have been mixing these drops with the Cover FX Illuminating Face Primer and I got to say I love the results. I didn’t notice any more dryness then what I already have on my skin and the best part, it didn’t accentuate my wrinkles or dry skin.It blends beautifully into my skin and it doesn’t dry too fast which is great because you have time to properly blend it out. I like to use my regular foundation brush and buff in the product. Depending on what you mix this product with will determine the finish. I mainly use an illuminating primer so I do end up with a luminous finish. The staying power is also very impressive. It lasts all day and all night on my dry skin and I didn’t notice any fading until I had to wash it off at night.
