“Our innovative Retractable Kabuki, made from recycled aluminum, is perfect for on-the-go! This brush is great for applying face powder or bronzer with our soft, cruelty-free bristles. Brush housed in our zip-top reusable pouch.”
I have been a big fan of Eco Tools brushes for a while now and my latest edition to my collection of brushes is the Retractable Kabuki Brush. I have been wanting this baby for a year and I finally decided to purchase it.
The main reason I bought this brush was because I was in desperate need for a retractable brush that I could easily throw in my makeup bag.
In case your not familiar with Eco Tools it’s an amazing company that makes 100% earth friendly brushes. The outer material is made up of 100% recycled aluminum, the bristles are cruelty free and made up of synthetic taklon bristles and a percentage of the money for this brush goes towards the earth. Even though it’s awesome that the exterior is aluminum if you happen to drop the brush or maybe sit on it it can easily get bent since it’s a thinner aluminum.
I thought the brush hairs would be just a little bit more denser but it’s not a big deal. If you do want this brush to be a little denser push up the retractable part of the brush up a little bit.
I usually use this brush to apply my MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural or to blend out my blush. It’s super soft which isn’t a big shock because Eco Tools has great reputation for making really soft brushes.
Now even though it’s a great brush there is two things I can’t stand about this brush and that’s the shedding. I don’t know if I got a bad brush but mine does shed a little bit. I do have other kabuki brushes from Eco Tools and they don’t shed at all. The other annoying thing about this brush is the drying time. This brush takes a good 24 hours to completely dry after I deep clean them which is OK I guess… I need more patience.
