e.l.f. Studio Blush In Candid Coral – Review, Pictures & Swatches

Product Description
“The soft sheer texture blends into the skin for a silky finish. Designed to be worn alone or layered for more depth. Highlight your complexion with a subtle healthy glow!”

e.l.f Studio blushes come in a sleek, matte black plastic case that really reminds of the Nars blush cases. In the front of the case there is a see through window that displays the shade of the blush which I think is a great touch especially if you are in a hurry to find a particular color. On the back of the case is a tiny label  with the name of the color. Inside of the compact is a small mirror.

Candid Coral is a pretty slightly shimmery coral shade with orange and little bit of pink undertones that leans to the warmer tones. This blush would look beautiful on fair skin skin tones. If you have a darker skin tone this blush would work as a highlighter. I have a medium skin tone and unfortunately Candid Coral doesn’t show up on my cheeks very well, so instead I use it to highlight my face. Candid Coral like Fuchsia Fusion is quite powdery so it is best to tap off the excess before applying it to your face.

I really love how much product you receive considering the price of this blush. I am disapointed with the pigmentation of this color and the texture feels very powdery. If you have a light skin tone then I can see this color looking really pretty. Medium to darker skin tones won't have much luck with this shade.

  • What a shame it doesn’t suit you so good, I love this tone…specially when in summer I’m tanned

    Melange-Boutique Blog by Noe&Lolita

    • It’s a gorgeous color but definitely too light for me.

  • I have the shade pink passion which I’ve just started using. I quite like it but like you mentioned it is quite powdery and one can end up applying too much.

    • I really like their darker shades since they show up better. The formula is quite chalky though.

  • I find the texture of ELF blushes to be kinda chalky in general but at least they’re inexpensive.

    Rowena @ rolala loves

    • That’s very true. They have some shades that are better

  • im so clumpsy when applying blushes so i may not do justice to powdery blushes …
however im liking the shade a lot

    • It just takes some practice this specific color doesn’t work well for me at all.

  • 🙁 Powdery texture in a blush is so not good.. I think i would not give it a go since i too am medium skin tone

    • I really like their other shades a lot more.

  • It’s too bad this one is too chalky… I have dry skin too so it probably won’t work well for me either ♡

  • The color is pretty but the pigmentation is certainly sad!

  • Jackie Harrison

I like their blush but this color candid did not work for my skin tone the pink passion love it but you have to be cautious in grabbing with blush is big time very pigmented and it pops.. Great review on the elf blush.

    • I agree they have some shades that work really well.

  • Beautiful color sweetheart.

Despite the cons it is still a pretty and affordable brush.. lovely review!

  • I could see right away on your finger that it looks too chalky for my taste! xoxo, Sissi http://www.beauty4free2u.com

  • Oooo, I have to agree that it’s chalky, it’s that obvious from your pictures! I have to say e.l.f is pretty much a hit and miss, shame about this because the shade is really pretty.

p/s: I just found out that SuperStore sells Milani! YAY! I’m super stoked about it but haven’t buy anything yet. What are your top recommendations to try? I have Luminuso blusher in mind but not sure about the lipsticks.

    • I would definitely recommend their new matte lipsticks. I have swatches of them if you are interested. I also love their liquid eyeliners.

  • Denise

So bad that the color didn’t look well on you… I like coral tones with pink undertones and shimmering, but if it’s a bit chalky… mmm… neverthless, i would lie to try this one if I find it by chance!

    • So glad you like it. I wish it showed up on my skin.

  • YAY! Elf is my favorite brand, they have such good products for the price! As you said, the products look as high brand as Nars and in my opinion they work just as well. I’ve not tried this blush, judging by the swatch it looks stunning though 🙂

  • Good morning! I love this review. I don’t think it would look great on me, although I have high cheek bones. I love the color, though.

    • It doesn’t show up on my skin at all. I love their other shades though.

  • The shade looks lovely, would have been better if the texture was good, but at this price its still ok

    • I totally agree. The good news is they have better shades in this range.

  • The shade looks lovely 🙂
