15 Health Benefits Of Grapefruit Essential Oil

ORIGIN: Italy
AROMA: Crisp, citrus aroma with sweet notes
COLOR: Pink to and orange-pink
EXTRACTION: Grapefruit oil is extracted from the fresh peel by cold compression
BLENDS WELL WITH: Rosemary, Cypress, Lavender, Geranium, Cardamom and generally most spice oils

Grapefruit oil is non-toxic, non-irritant, non-sensitizing and although listed as non-phototoxic, it can irritate the skin if exposed to strong sunlight after treatment.

 

Extracted from Grapefruit found on large lustrous trees native to Asia but commonly grown in California. The essential oil is derived from the Grapefruit peel. Grapefruit essential oil is one of my favorite oils and I use it every single day. It smells amazing and has countless benefits. I find even people who are not a fan of grapefruit really like the scent of this oil.

During massages, Grapefruit stimulates the senses while beautifying the skin. Known for its mild euphoric properties, it settles emotions and restores balance. The earliest records of Grapefruits were found in the West Indies during the early eighteenth century. Florida was home to the first planted Grapefruit trees in 1820.

Mix 2 drops of grapefruit essential oil with coconut oil and massage on the area of concern once a day.

Add a few drops to a warm bath. Apply diluted oil on the lower abdamon.

Stress
Diffuse throughout a room during a stressful period. Add a few drops to a cotton ball and place in car vent or apply topically.

Kidney Care
Apply diluted oil to the abdomen area to help urinary system.

Overeating
Curb appetite by diffusing oil throughout the air, adding a drop to water or taking in a capsule.

Weight Loss
I personally add 2 each of grapefruit, peppermint and lemon essential oil to a vegetable capsule and take that internally once a day. It’s great for weight loss and detoxifies the liver.
